Heritage

“Heritage” has many different aspects, cultural, natural or a combination of the two. It is our legacy from the past, what we live with today, and what we pass on to future generations. Exploring Greece as we know it from our ancestors, from architecture and geochronological landscapes, to human identity, to Greek customs and traditions at-large, this project brings together a panorama of how we became what we are today. It illuminates what defines us throughout the centuries, from the fishermen and the farmers, to religion and its influence, to the architecture that kept us safe from the enemy or nature itself and helped shape the environment we grew up in. Documenting patterns of Greek life, its cultural values and complexities alongside Greek history, “Heritage”, is an ongoing photographic series that aims to keep all these values safe from the passing of time, and the globalization of today.

“We have a responsibility to create a protection and conservation system for our heritage.”

“My heritage has been my grounding. Whenever i feel lost i go back to the roots.”
