Crossroads

A socio-cultural portrait of contemporary Americana, "Crossroads," captures the American South through an anthropological lens. Exploring issues of race, intimacy and identity, the project gives an insight into human behaviour and human nature at large. Bringing together a colourful social panorama of people with diverse social, professional, and economic backgrounds, and inspired by ordinary things, like one's front porch or the local bar, this ongoing photographic series, offers a vivid perspective of diversity. Not set out to define the American South, but rather explore what is elusive and perhaps indefinable. Documenting patterns of Southern life - its unique cultural values, habits and complexities, that alongside the region's rich music history, in a way, constitute its sense of identity.
